Graduate Student Professional Development Week

MIT’s inaugural Graduate Student Professional Development Week took place July 22-25, with over 150 graduate student participants. The week of programming introduced student professional development to the Institute and brought over 15 offices together to engage with graduate students throughout the week.

The program kicked off with the Inside Scoop, an ice-cream social open house in which many offices and programs introduced various ways that graduate students can engage in professional development opportunities across campus. The open house was followed by a week of events and workshops, in which offices and departments such as CAPD, GEL, PKG, TLL and more offered programs focused on the professional development competencies of leadership and mentoring, communication, personal development, career advancement, interpersonal skills, social responsibility, and teaching.
