Celebrating Graduate Presidential Fellows
On October 9, Vice Chancellor Ian Waitz and the Office of Graduate Education (OGE) welcomed the 2019 cohort of Presidential Fellows to campus with the annual Presidential Fellowship Reception. MIT established this prestigious program in 1999 through philanthropic support in order to recruit the most outstanding students worldwide to pursue graduate studies at the Institute.
Since its inception, the program has grown to support more than 120 new graduate student fellows annually. This year’s reception was held at the Samberg Conference Center where fellows enjoyed socializing with their peers in front of views of the Boston skyline and were given a certificate signed by President L. Rafael Reif.
