In early March, the Office of the First Year (OFY) selected 96 undergraduate students to serve as 2020 Orientation Leaders (OLs), 12 of whom will serve as OL Captains and two of whom will serve in a newly created Logistics Coordinator role. Our OL Captains and Logistics Coordinators have already begun working with OFY staff to make adjustments to virtual Orientation Leader training and to implement virtual summer engagement plans for the Class of 2024.

Beginning in mid-June, all members of the Class of 2024 will be assigned to a Flag Color Group and added to a class-wide Slack channel where they can ask their Orientation Leaders questions and begin to build community among their team. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to begin communication between the OLs and new students earlier this year!

The Brown Flag won the Flag Color Competition in 2019, so this year’s theme (dictated by the color brown) is Wild West. We can’t wait to meet the Class of 2024 — yeehaw!
