Ways to Give During COVID-19
We have all been touched by the innovative ways people have are helping others and giving back to the communities they love throughout this Pandemic. The MIT community is also finding ways to help locally. The MIT Staff Emergency Hardship Fund was created as a vital resource for staff and postdoctoral scholars facing acute setbacks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund provides up to $1,000 in financial assistance to those experiencing an immediate, severe, and temporary financial hardship due to a sudden or non-recurring emergency. Follow the link above to learn about options to donate with a credit card, PayPal, or via payroll deduction.
In addition, the MIT COVID-19 Neighborhood Response Fund was set up by MIT Community Giving to coordinate MIT’s support to six local charities that serve MIT’s neighbors in Cambridge. This fund will provide much needed assistance to those who are suffering from food insecurity and homelessness. From the link above, click on “Give Now” to make a donation.
